Cross workbook cell transfers
At the moment I am using a macro to copy the lines on workbook 1 and paste in workbook 2 and then transforming the data in workbook 2 by cutting out of the first 4 columns and pasting them in their relevant column is there a better way of doing this ? (All of this is done in the same macro) workbook 2 is also generated by the same macro it does not exist before I run the macro.
RE: Cross workbook cell transfers
Hi Joshua,
Thank you for the forum question.
Everything can be automated in Excel. My Excel philosophy is "never do manual work in Excel".
So yes you have a better solution, but you will need to write VBA codes to fully automate your task. I do not know, if you have a good knowledge of VBA and can write the codes.
The Power Query tool in Excel could be another solution to fully automate your task. Power Query to me is the most important Excel tool and can save most Excel users huge amount of time.
You have been on our Excel Advanced course. The macro recorder is a part of this course. You can try to record the steps you are doing in workbook 2, but make sure you record it from workbook 1.
Kind regards
