Multilevel numbering

I previosuly sent Marius the template i have to work with that does not seem to allow multilevel numbering within the table because of the tab function. Is there a way around that?

RE: Multilevel numbering

Hello Bridget,

Thank you for your question, apologies for the wait! I have found a solution to multi level numbering in a Word table without using the Tab key.

Here are the steps:

- Click in a table cell, then select Multi Level Numbering from the Home ribbon.
- The initial value will be 1. If you'd like to change this (e.g. to 2), select the number, right-click and set the numbering value.
- If you want to change the level, e.g. to 2.1, you need to click the Multi Level Numbering button in the Home ribbon, then select Change List Level. This will promote or demote the numbering level.

You will need to reapply this process in any other table cells you wish to number.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Marius Barnard

Word tip:

Create Blank Lines in Lists

If you in the middle of writing a numbered or bulleted list you may want to insert a blank line between the points to make the list more readable. To do this:

While in the middle of typing a list:

Press Shift+Enter and your cursor will stay in the list and move down a line without inserting another bullet or number.

Press Enter and a new bullet or number will form.

This can be useful in case your lists contain items several sentences long, as blank lines between the items may make your lists more readable.
