How to add up receipts by Partner

Hello,

My SUMIF formula is not working. It shows a lower figure that if i manually filter and sum.

I want to have a cell that shows the running total of all cash receipts by Partner.

Cells M279:M289 have the Partner names in them and in cells N279:N289 I want to show the running total by partner.

=SUMIF(Receipts!N6:N255,M279,Receipts!L6:L255)

The Partner name is in column N.
The cash receipt is in Column L.

Thanks

Tamsin

RE: How to add up receipts by Partner

Hi Tamsin,

Thank you for the forum question.

Try:

=SUMIF(Receipts!$N$6:$N$255,M279,Receipts!$L$6:$L$255)

Excel tip:

Activating the formula bar with the keyboard in Excel 2010

The formula bar in Excel 2010 contains a number of different formulas. However, it is time consuming to open the formula bar every time and insert the formula using the mouse. Instead, you can activate the formula bar with the keyboard. Simply press the F2 button on the keyboard then the information in the cell will expand allowing you to edit the information in the cell.
