Ranges within Pivot Tables

I will be wanting to set up a pivot table for properties that we own looking at construction costs on each, and it will be useful to filter the data by properties which have a minimum floor area. Can you advise the best way I could achieve this?

Thanks,

Mike

RE: Ranges within Pivot Tables

Hi Mike

Great question and sorry I couldn't answer it during the session, I had a brain freeze!

Create the Pivot Table

Select the column header arrow Filter drop-down arrow for the column you want to filter. (located next to the column name on the Pivot Table).

There is an option called Value Filters, from here you can select the criteria range you wish to filter by e.g. LESS THAN 300m SQ

Regards

Dennis

Excel tip:

How to apply the same formatting and data to multiple sheets at the same time in Excel 2010

When you want to format more than one sheet in a worksheet exactly the same way, Ctrl-click the tabs of the sheets you want to group together and they will all turn white. While they are grouped, anything you enter in one sheet gets entered into the others.

After you have done this, remember to click on the tabs to take them out of the group so that you do not accidentally insert data in multiple sheets when you just want to insert data in one.
