Changing file location after creating a dashboard

Morning,

I'm still having access issues with IT so to speed things up I'm considering moving my data source from Sharepoint to a company shared drive, until IT can give me access to the Sharepoint file via Power BI.
If I construct a dashboard based on information on the company shared drive, how difficult would it be to migrate the data source from the shared drive to SharePoint at a later date and move the pathway in Power BI.
I don't really want to construct the dashboard twice due to different data locations.
Thanks

Dave

RE: Changing file location after creating a dashboard

Hi David,
Thank you for the forum question.

What is your data source? Have you stored the data in an Excel file?

Normally it is not a problem to move the data source for a Power Bi report. After the source is moved you will need to change the path to the new destination. It can be done in the query editor in the advanced editor. You will find the path to the old destination at the top.
