Data Validation

I built a data drop down list months ago, which I could type anything in the cell without being stopped from Excel for not typing correctly a data from the list. Also while I type I get a suggestion from the list on what I am writing (as the list is very long and that was helpful).
It is very useful but I don't remember how I did it. I only recall I used Visual Basic.
Hope you can help me. Thank you

Copying Values Without Formulas in Excel 2010

If you want to copy the contents of a cell but don't want to copy the formula with it then use the following simple method:

Press Ctrl+C to copy the values in the cell. On the Home tab, click Paste and then click Paste Values.
