Index sheet linked to Input or Calculation or Output sheet

I want to create an index in the first sheet of my worksheet to take me directly to different sheets in my worksheet . How do I link the cell/text from the index sheet to the same text=title of a sheet . Thank you

RE: Index sheet linked to Input or Calculation or Output sheet

Hi Gabriela,

Thank you for the forum question.

You can do it by creating hyperlinks.

Right click on the cell with the text on your index sheet. Click Hyperlink the last option on the list. Select the option "Place in this document" and select the sheet name to the right.

RE: Index sheet linked to Input or Calculation or Output sheet

Thank you Jena .

I have another question if possible . I m trying to copy and paste the values and formulas from one sheet into another so if I update the input sheet transfer automically onto the output sheet , but transposed from vertical to horizontal .

The normal copy and special paste do not seem to work .
Any ideas into what I m doing wrong ?

Thank you in advance
Gabi

RE: Index sheet linked to Input or Calculation or Output sheet

Hi Gabriela,

If you have a new question in the future please raise it as a new question thanks. Otherwise the other trainers will not see it and you may need to wait a while for an answer.

Unfortunately you cannot transpose and paste link. You can paste the data as link (then the data will update) or you can paste transpose, but then the data will not update.

Excel tip:

Shortcuts for working with named ranges in Excel

If you are working with or creating named ranges in your spreadsheets, then you may find the following shortcut keys useful.

- Bring up the Define Names dialogue box on screen by using Ctrl + F3 (instead of going to Insert - Names).

- Create Names from labels you have entered into the spreadsheet by highlighting the labels and related figures, then hold down Shift + Ctrl + F3. You can then choose to create names from the top or bottom rows, or left or right columns.

- Go directly to a named range by hitting the F5 key. The Go To dialogue box will open and display any named ranges in the spreadsheet. Simply select the named range to navigate to it in the spreadsheet.
