Slicers

Requirement: I need to have one slicer which lists company names. Issue: My data table has 1 column which contains several names of companies separated by a semicolon. I know how to split 1 column with several names into several columns, but how do I get 1 slicer which lists the company names that span over several columns?

RE: Slicers

Hi Yvette,

Thank you for the forum question.

A slicer can only store information from one column. You will have to keep the column where you have the company names separated by a semicolon if you want to have it all in your slicer. You can separate the columns into many columns but you will need also to keep the column with all the companies separated by semicolon and the you could just hide the column.

If you have VBA knowledge you can code what you want.

Excel tip:

Change the Value of a Constant

When using a named constant in a worksheet, you may wish to change the value of that constant.

From the 'Insert' menu, select 'Name', then select 'Define'.

In the 'Define Name' dialog box, select the constant that you want to change.
Change the value in the 'Refers To' box.
Click OK.

Wherever that named constant has been used it will now use its new value.
