Footer in word on last page only

I'd like to put a footer in a restricted document, which only shows on the last page whether the doc is 1 page or 10. I've tried using this code { If { page} = { numpages } "This is the last-page text"} but it's not working. Do you have any other suggestions?

RE: footer in word on last page only

Hi Joanna,

Thank you for the forum question.

If you want to have different headers and footers on some of the pages in a Word you can do this by using section breaks. Click after the last word on your page 9. Go to the PAGE LAYOUT tab from the BREAK list in the PAGE SETUP group click NEXT PAGE under SECTION BREAKS.

Now go to the footer on page 10. Under the HEADER & FOOTER TOOLS in the NAVIGATION group click LINK TO PREVIOUS to deselect it is linked to the previous footer.

When you have done this you can add the information to the footer and it will only be in the footer on page 10.

Kind regards

Word tip:

Close a Document

Word opens multiple documents in multiple windows. Press CTRL+F4 (Function 4 key) or ALT+F4. to Close a document.
(There is no way to turn this feature off) So unlike other programs there is no difference between CTRL+F4 and ALT+F4, unless you have just one document open. CTRL+F4 closes just the document ALT+F4 closes both the document and Word.
