Intermediate excel

Hi there,

I was on the course last week and I was hoping to practice some of the SUM and IF questions. I was wondering if you could advise on how to try some exercises relating to these as I need to use them before I forgot them, many thanks

Kind regards,

Tom

RE: Intermediate excel

Hi Tom

Yes, great idea to practiced after your training. There is a practical activity file called Commission which you can download. The exercise instructions are at the end of Unit 4 of the Excel Intermediate handbook called Conditional Functions and Formatting.

Use the same file to practice adding totals to the tables using the Sum function. You will need to delete the totals first. I've also attached another file to practice the Sum function.

Hope that helps for now.

Excel tip:

Turn off AutoComplete in Excel

You may have noticed when typing into your spreadsheets that if you start to enter labels that begin with the same letters as a label that has been previously entered in the same spreadsheet, Excel will try and automatically complete the text for you. This feature is called AutoComplete.

If you find this feature more annoying than useful, you can turn it off by:

1. Going to Tools - Options.

2. Select the Edit tab.

3. Remove the tick from next to the "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" option.

4. Click OK.
