Pivot tables

When adding many columns to a pivot table and it defaults to Count rather than Sum, is there a quick way of converting to Sum, without manually changing each column?

RE: Pivot tables

Hi Simran

Thank you for your question.
One fix is to double check the data prior to creating the Pivot table. Excel generally switches to Sum when the column of data contains text or spaces.

Make sure everything is formatted as a number and this should avoid the Sum function being selected in the pivot table.

Once in the Pivot table you will need to go to the respective Value Field Settings to switch Count to Sum so it's easier if you and get the data ready for pivoting first.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Ctrl + Page Down - Switch to the next worksheet (to the right)

Ctrl + Page Up - Switch to the previous worksheet (to the left)
