Page numbering

How do I take the 'page 1' off page preview

RE: page numbering

Hi Susan, Thanks for the post, its a good one, you can change the First Page Number by going to File, Page Setup, select the Page tab and in the First page number box, type the number you want to start at. This obviously only works if you have designated to have a page number in your Headers and Footers setup. Sadly unlike Word where we can say that we do not require a number on the first page, Excel does not give that option.

RE: page numbering

Hi Susan, sadly there is no way of removing the "Page 1" in the background within your pagebreak preview, as the point of Page break is to see which bits of information are held on which pages! Maybe an alternative would be to use the Print Preview option instead?

RE: page numbering

hello tracy

The background wording does not only appear during pagebreak preview - it is on the screen constantly and obscures the text. It does not appear on the printed copies though.

RE: page numbering

Hi Susan,

I have been out training and just got back !

You say the words obsure the text! Can you send me a copy so I can take a look at it

there is a link below!

RE: page numbering

Just check you are in Normal view and not Page break preview. Under the menu View click "Normal" and the page numbers should disappear
