Where can I see further examples of macro's used in excel?

Hi Jonathan

Thanks for getting in touch. There is a very wide array of things that you can do in Excel with macros, far greater than say Word.

Because Excel revolves around data, there are often repetitive analysis, formatting or calculations that need to happen. Macros can step in to help with this. If you need to download a file, delete certain columns, format another column, add another column with a new calculation, and then perhaps filter off certain rows on to their own sheet, this is a perfect scenario for a macro.

It's difficult to list all the possibilities for macros as it is so vast, instead perhaps browse forums for inspiration, such as our own:

Excel tip:

Closing Multiple Workbooks quickly

When you have several workbooks open in Excel and want to just close them all at once:

1) Hold down the SHIFT key before selecting the File menu.

2) Once in File menu release SHIFT key and select Close All option.

3) All your files will close. If files require saving Excel will ask if you want to save the changes.
