How can I convert Word 2010 form fields to text fields?

I want to make medical notes using combo form fields in Word 2010.

After using the form I want to convert the form fields to plain text.

I need to do this because my medical notes must become plain text after I have used the form.

I have used the previous forms in Word 2003 and could do this by using control-shift-F9.

I have tried to do this in Word 2010 but it doesn’t work.

I would be most grateful for your advice.

RE: How can I convert Word 2010 form fields to text fields?

Hi Maurice

Interesting question about form controls in Word 2010.
Rather than using Ctrl+shift+F9 to convert your fileds to text try the following:

Press Ctrl+a to select all
Right click, Remove Content Control

Alternatively you can create 2003 style combo boxes by choosing:

Developer tab, Insert, Legacy Tools, Drop-Down form field

That would allow you continue working with the fields in the same way as before with Word 2003.

Hope that helps.
