Date counting days

How can I easily count the days, if I have a start date mm/dd/yyyy and an end date mm/dd/yyyy. For example if I want to calculate the patient days on therapy of a medicine, to proof efficiency.

RE: date counting days

Hi Esther

Thanks for getting in touch. Counting with dates is quite straightforward; subtract one date from another. So if your end date is in cell A1 and start date is in cell B1, in C1 you can find out the difference with:

=A1-B1

If you need to find out only the week days, you can use:

=NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1)

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
