Appending data back to one table - am abit stuck

Hi

I loved my courses, but now since being back at work for a few months, I don't have much time to use access during my normal working month, and I'm creating a database at home. And I want to keep working on it and tweeking it, to get better in Access and VBA.

I wonder if someone can help me please? I remember during my training, there were some selection/tick boxes where you could enable access to liaise with other MS applications, but for the life of me I cant find it, at work I must have everything turned on, but at home, I don't have office links, and can't "Analyze using excel".

My 2nd question, is around appending.

I have a form, and a subform within in.

On the main form, I have 2 combo boxes, using sql, pulling back data from the tables:

Customers - Customer Table
Auction Date - Auction Date table

In the subform, someone can enter as many items as they like (ie would like to sell).

I have a "save" button, but it is only appending new item entries back to the "Items" table, but not linking to the customer or date selected in the combo boxes, so those fields are blank in the table, but all data entered into the subform is being saved back fine.

I'm abit stuck.

3rd question, once I have all information saved correctly into my Items table, how best should I append those new items, into my "live" sale table, where it goes ready for the next auction? I'l ike, say, all new entries between such and such a date, or within the last 7 days?
In the items table, it is linked to the person "customer" listing/selling it, but in my sale table, it can be linked to the customer who buys it?

If I relist an item and it doesn't sell in the first week, I can get it to enter another line for it, but I want it entered automatically for the following Saturday, can I say the date plus 7?

Sorry, lots of questions

I hope someone can help me?

Thanks so much in advance
Clair

RE: Appending data back to one table - am abit stuck

Hi Clair

Thanks for your post, we're glad you enjoyed your courses and MS Access can be quite tricky in terms of getting everything to work as intended.

We may be able to help however it will beyond the scope of the forum as we will need to have a copy of your files and a telephone conversation with you.

If we can identify a solution we will then advise on scope of work, timeframes and related costs.

If you would like to explore this further just reply direct to my email.

Kind regards

Jacob
