What are the main updates for Excel 2010 compared to Excel 2007?

RE: Excel 2010

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for your question regarding 2010 differences.

There are several differences in the background of 2010 compared to 2007, speed issues, bugs removed etc..

for the end user, main difference is the inclusion of the new File Ribbon, which used to be the Office button. This new ribbon has the print options, save, open and excel options.

VBA code has been upgraded to Version 7, which allows users to record Chart formatting in a macro.

New Solver interface, and several enhancements to the interface introduced in 2007. Some additional function words have been added. Overall, for majority of day to day excel functions, most users feel there are few changes.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

From the 'Format' menu select 'Cells' (Or Right-click on the selected range and and select 'Format Cells').

In the 'Number' tab click on 'Custom' in the 'Category' window.

In the 'Type:' box enter zeroes that correspond to the size of the required number (eg 5 zeroes).
