Form design

Database created on earlier Microsoft Access but now being run on 2007. In subform, there is a large gap between last fields and end of form. This does not appear in design view and I cannot see any reason why it is appearing in form view.

RE: Form design

Hi Doireann, thanks for your query. In design view, select the subform, and in properties set AutoSize to Yes. Then CLOSE and reopen. If this doesn't work, you'll either need to delete out the subform and rebuild it or use some code:

http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/35609071/automatically-resize-subform-height-based-on-number-of-returned-re.aspx

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Access tip:

Create An Inaccessible Field On A Form

There is sometimes a need to make a field in a form look like a normal field but be completely inaccessible to the user. To do this:

In the Field's Properties
Set the ENABLED property to No
Set the LOCKED property to Yes

The field will not grey out, but the user will not be able to do anything with it.
