Ms project

Hello
Have a problem I hope you can solve for me. I'm about to setup ms project for a major project. It must be said it is the first time I use MS Project and therefore, I may sound very newbie-like, I hope you bear with me.
But my question is:
I sit in a group of 3 men, we have a day in school at 8 hours, 40 hours a week. I write these functions ii and inside settings. How do I drag hour where we have classes out of MS Project ..? so that only the hours we spend on the project which is applicable.
Now that I have an assignment from 25-10-2010 to 28-10-2010 tagden on the 8 hours we have a day which is 32 hours and submit to the hours I've devoted to the task, eg 5 hours as it gets 38 hours .. But gotta write only 5 hours.!
How I prefer the hours we have teaching out of my planning ..? Well not every week we have equal number of hours ..
I hope my English is okay and that you can help me.
Thanks in advance for your help

MS Project tip:

Inserting Task Durations Quickly

When entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day.
