Day count function

I don't know if this is possible, but i want to be able to enter two dates and to come out with the number of weekdays between those two dates. is this possible?

Hi Natalie,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

You can achieve this byusing the NetworkDays function.

The first thing you need to do is add a AddIn. Go to Tools - AddIns. Tick the checkbox for Analysis Toolpack and then click OK.

In a blank cell go to Insert Function and type NetworkDays in the Search box and then select it from the recommended functions in the box below and click OK.

In the Start Date enter the cell reference for later date and then in the End Date box the earliest date giving you a positive result.

Validating text entries

1. Select the range of cells.
2. From the Data menu, select Validation.
3. Select the Settings tab.
4. From the Allow dropdown list, select Custom.
5. In the Formula box, enter the following formula:

=IsText (A1)

where A1 is the first cell in the range.
6. Click OK.
