Can you do an if statement to highlight duplicates

RE: excel

Sandra apologies for the delay

The best way to highlight duplicates in a list is to find a unique column such as an account number.

Please find attached a spreadsheet called "conditionally format duplicates" that shows you how to apply conditional formatting to a single column to format duplicates in that column

The first sheet has the steps involved and the formulas in the worksheet. Also I have taken a screenshot of what should be entered in the conditional formatting dialog box.

The second sheet just has the data for you to practice on.

Many thanks

Hope that helps

Excel tip:

Change Excel's default font

You can change the default font and font size for all spreadsheets created in Excel by:

1. Going to Tools on the menu bar.
2. Select Options, then General.
3. Next to Standard Font you can change the font and font size.
4. Click OK.

Each new file you start from this point onward should use the font and font size you have selected.
