Password Protect

Hi,
How do I password protect so that my spreadsheet will ask for the password to be able to edit or give them the option to read only?

thank you,

Rosie

RE: Password Protect

Hi Rosanne,

Thank you for your question.

There are two possible ways of achieiving this.

Firstly go to Tools, Protection and Protect sheet and assign a password.

Secondly, go to File, Save As and then look for the Tools menu. Select General options and then Password.

You can choose to create a password to open and/or modify or choose for Read Only recommended.

I hope this helps and answers your question.

Regards

Simon

Excel tip:

Editing Formulas in Excel Cells

Although people like to edit a formula in the Formula bar, you can also edit a formula in the cell.

To do this select the cell and press "F2". This puts Excel into Edit mode, and you can move around in the cell and make any necessary changes.

Double-clicking the cell also puts Excel in Edit mode.
