Hi Anthony,
As discussed,it is easy to find te speech function under Excel 2003. Could you please let me know where to find it under newer versions?
Many thanks.
Kind regards,
Viktor Huja

RE: Excel

Hi Viktor, thanks for your query. The speech function is quite well hidden in Excel 2007. Go to the drop down arrow on the right of the quick access toolbar. Choose the third option from the bottom "More Commands", you'll get the "Customise Quick Access Toolbar" dialog box up. Change the first dropdown to "All Commands" and scroll down the list to "Speak Cells" (you can press the s key and it will leap to that section). Select "Speak Cells" and click the Add button in the middle of the screen, then click "OK" at the bottom right of the screen.

That will add the Speak Cells function to the Quick Access toolbar at the top left of the Excel screen. It works the same way as the Excel 2003 version, just type into a cell and click the icon (obviously, you'll need your sound card enabled for this to work).

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Excel tip:

Creating custom lists

In Excel if you type in January in a cell, you can then copy this cell to replicate Febraury, MArch, April etc.

This list has come from Tools- options and Custom lists.

Therefore to save time and create your own list you can click on New (in Tools and custom list tab) and type out the lsit that you want copied quickly.

All you have to do is then type in the 1st word and you will be able to copy the rest of the list quickly.
