Numbered Cells

I have a spreadsheet in which i have labelled a number of cells with the same text (B&W & Colour).
After the first cell, the following cells insist on being numbered (B&W2, B&W3, B&W4, Colour2, Colour3, Colour4).
I have tried formatting the cell to text as well as typing over the suggested text, but it reverts back to a numbered cell everytime.

Can you help?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

If possible can you please send me a copy of the workbook to sk@stl-training.co.uk

RE: Numbered Cells

Hi Mark,

Thank you for the attachment.

The problem you are having is due to the fact the data and headings have been formatted as a table in which the headings have to be unique.

Select a cell within the table and go to the Design tab of the yellow Table Tools menu which will appear above the ribbon.

Go to the Tools tab and click Convert to Range and say yes to convert the table to a range. Then you can rename the cells so they are the same across.

I hope this works.

Let me know.

Regards

Simon

Excel tip:

Moving between Worksheets without using the mouse

Use the 'Ctrl+PgDn' and 'Ctrl+PgUp' keys.

'Ctrl+PgDn' will move to the right and 'Ctrl+PgUp' will move to the left one worksheet at a time.
