Use of filters

I have a list of data with amounts of money for each row. There is an autosum Total at the bottom of the amounts column. There is more data several rows below the Total cell. I use filtering in this way quite regularly to get a sub-total on different items within the list. On this occasion the filter is filtering out the Total row at the bottom so it doesn't show and also some of the data below it.

RE: Use of filters

Hi Helen

Thanks for your question. Try removing the filter and then before you turn filters back on first highlight the headings and rows you would like the filter to apply to. This should enable you to set Excel to ignore total row.

Let me know how you get on or if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Excel tip:

Separate the year from a date

To separate the year from a date use the =year() function, eg a date is in cell A1 and in A2 you wish to display the year enter the function =year(A1)
