Dreamweaver

Is it possible to have more than one remote site, e.g. one local for testing and another for publishing to the web that is fed from the local remote site after testing is complete?

RE: Dreamweaver

Hi Telena

Thank you for your question. The site dialogue box only allows one remote site to be set however Dreamweaver 8 can be connected to Visual SourceSafe and Web DAV compatible systems that provide version control as well as check-in/check-out features.

You can find out more about Visual SourceSafe here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/aa302175.aspx

This is a Microsoft application - consequently this only works in a Windows environment.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Dreamweaver tip:

Testing a site

When developing a site, you have to cater to the widest possible audience allowing for users with different browsers and display settings.
Test pages to see how they look with:

- different display resolutions
- browser with graphics turned off
- many different browsers not just IE
- if possible different operating systems.
