How do I locate my templates

RE: templates

Dear Jacqueline

Thank you for attending Word Advanced course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

To locate your template depends on where you saved the template.

At the time of saving your template the save as dialog box allows you to save it in a folder of your choice.

Normally as soon as you choose template from the save as type dialog box the location in the save In box always changes to Templates.

This is somewhere in the Hard drive of your computer.

If you want to create a new file based on the template then you can choose File > New... from the menu bar.

When you choose Templates on my computer from the task pan eon the right hand side then you will see the general tab that should have your template there.

But if you want to access the template file so tat you can delete or edit the original file then the location of the template file depends on who is logged in to the machine. This is typical location of any template file:

C:\Documents and Settings\Best\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Best is the user name in your case most probably it will be your user name that you are looking for.

Please let me know if this works for you.

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Word tip:

Change the default font in Word

The default settings for all new documents created in Word are stored in the Normal template, Normal.dot.

To change the font for the Normal template, start a new document then go to Format - Font.

Change the font settings to reflect the font and font size you would like to use in future in most or all of your documents.

Click the Default button in the bottom left-hand corner of the Font dialogue box. Click Yes when the message associated with the font change appears on your screen.

You have now changed the default font for all new documents created from this point forward.
