Expiry dates on a spreadsheet

I have a list of contracts which need to be renewed and would like to know how to make the expiry dates show up in red three weeks before they are due to expire.

RE: Expiry dates on a spreadsheet

You can use conditional formatting - using the IF function.

Conditional formatting in excel

Yvonne,

As suggested by Vicki, you can use conditional formatting. Select the cell (or column/row) you wish to colour, go to Format -> Conditional Formatting... and create a rule and style that matches your criteria.

Regards, Rich

Excel tip:

Adding date and time

Here are two quick ways to add the date and time to your spreadsheet:

1) Type =NOW(), which displays both date and time in the same cell
or
2) Hold Ctrl and type the colon (:) into one cell for the date and the semi-colon(;)into another for the time.

Note that =NOW() updates to the current date/time whenever the spreadsheet recalculates.
