how do i delete all the data except formulas from a spread sheet and save it as a template.

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
You can ask Excel to find any cells containing text and numbers for you, then once these have been selected you can delete them.
Use Edit - Go to (or press the F5 key), click the Special button, then select Constants and unchecked Logicals and Errors (so just Numbers and Text are selected).
Then click OK.
Press Delete to empty the selected cells.
To save as a template, go to File - Save as, and under Save as type selected Excel Template .xlt, then choose where you want to save the template file to.
