What does a format painter do?

RE: Format painter

Hi Pamela,
Thank you for your question;
IN reply: Format Painter - Format Painter will copy the Formatting from one area of your document and apply it to a chosen area, there are two methods of applying Format Painter, Single and Multiple. For Single select the text formatting you wish to copy, click the Format Painter button and then select the text you wish to apply it to --- For Multiple double click the Format Painter button and apply the formatting to as many places as you wish. Note: you will have to click the button again to switch it off. I hope that helps ... Pete

Word tip:

Keeping words together in the same line

Word will automatically wrap text itself to create new lines.

You can force Word to keep words together when they are separated by either spaces or hyphens by creating non-breaking spaces or non-breaking hyphens.

To create a non-breaking space, use Ctrl + Shift in conjunction with pressing the spacebar.

To create a non-breaking hyphen, use Ctrl + Shift in conjunction with pressing the hyphen key.

Non-breaking spaces or hyphens will not split between lines.
