Excel 2007 - formatting cells
How would you highlight or emphasise any cells that contain a number that is higher than or lower than a specified value?
RE: Excel 2007 - formatting cells
Hello Anne
Thank you for your question, and welcome to the forum.
I hope you enjoyed yesterday's training.
You can highlight cells according to the value that is in them, using a feature called Conditional Formatting.
In Excel 2007, you can create a conditional format as follows:
1. Highlight the cells containing the values you wish to apply the conditional formatting to.
2. On the Home ribbon, within the Styles group, click the Conditional Formatting button.
3. Select Highlight Cell Rules, then select the appropriate option for the condition you wish to create (greater than, less than...)
4. Type in the value that is your minimum or maximum (depending on the rule you are creating) then create the format you wish to apply to the cells using the dropdown box on the right. You'll have preset options you can choose from or go to Custom Format to set your own formatting up.
5. Once done, click OK.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
