Excel Vlookup

Can I have some extra vlookup practice please?

RE: Excel Vlookup

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your question.

Here is an example of a spreadsheet you can build to practice Vlookup formulas. Type the data below in sheet 1:

Country Capital Population
UK London 7,512,400
SPAIN Madrid 5,078,000
ITALY Rome 4,000,000

The data above is your excel list (table array).

On a second sheet type the following in different cells:

Country (label in Cell A1) - The cell you type the country you are searching for will be Cell B1 (Lookup value in the formula).

Capital (label in Cell A3) - Vlookup formula in cell B3
Population (label in A4) - Vlookup formula in cell B4

I hope this helps you.

Regards

Simon

Excel tip:

Selecting constant values only

If periodically you need to change all your values back to zero, but leave formulas, text and blank cells as they are select the entire worksheet, choose F5 function key, Special and then Constants and choose the appropriate sub-selections. To enter zero in all the selected cells type 0 and then press Ctrl+Enter.
