Tables

Sometimes when you create two or more tables the outside lines do not line up with ecah other. I try and move the indents in line with each other, but they won't line up exactly. How do I fix this?

RE: Tables

Hello Bianca

Thank you for your question.

Are you referring to tables aligning down the page (i.e. one table underneath another), or across the page, or both?

thanks
Amanda

Both

RE: Tables

Hi Bianca

For aligning down the page, click inside one of the tables and go to Table - Properties, you can choose an alignment option (e.g. Left), and you can also change the size of the left indent provided you have the Text Wrapping set to None; then click OK.

Aligning across the page is tricker as you don't have an alignment option like you do for aligning tables one underneath each other. I normally do this by eye in conjunction with the ruler down the side of the screen, but it helps if you go into Table - Table Properties and set Text Wrapping to Around. Then it makes it easier to drag the table to where you want it positioned.

Kind regards
Amanda

Word tip:

Close a Document

Word opens multiple documents in multiple windows. Press CTRL+F4 (Function 4 key) or ALT+F4. to Close a document.
(There is no way to turn this feature off) So unlike other programs there is no difference between CTRL+F4 and ALT+F4, unless you have just one document open. CTRL+F4 closes just the document ALT+F4 closes both the document and Word.
