Is there a quick way to identify the keyboard shortcuts

RE: Range

Dear James

Thank you for attending Excel Advanced course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

I am not clear of the question you asked. Did you mean you want to know the shortcut key when you are using a specific command such as Cut, Bold, etc... or do you want to know how you can get a list of shortcut keys and print them out?

If the question is more about accessing the short cut keys while carrying out the command then you'll notice that when you normally hover over certain commands the yellow box tells you the short cut key. But unfortunately it is limited to very few commands. But in office 2007 you have something known as Access Keys that can help you to easily access all the commands in the ribbon. All you have to do is press the Alt key and then press the relevant key that appears on the ribbon.

If you are looking for a list of short cut keys then simply press on the Help button ( the ? mark on the top right hand corner). Type in Short cut keys and it will provide you with one of the help topics that provides you a complete list of short cut keys!!

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Excel tip:

Creating a range of monthly payments as text

You could use a formula to create a range of payment ie. payment amount for x% to y% rate with fixed terms and principle.

The text that would be "between Xamount and Yamount".

Here is how to do it.

1 Use the PMT function to get your monthly payments figure or whatever frequency of payments that you choose he start range.

See PMT under Excel Help

2. Nest these in the ROUND function to round decimals see ROUND under Excel Help

3. Concatenate this using "&" and concatenate " to " and concatenate "Between ".

4. Concatenate the above to PMT function for the end range

ie.

="Between "&ROUND((PMT1),decimal places)&" and "&ROUND((PMT2),decimal places)
