Creating a statement formula

I have a company statement, which is similar to a banking statement. It has four columns. First column shows where we spent money or activity where money was spent e.g fishing, rock climbing etc. Second column has the Outgoings in monetary terms i.e

RE: Creating a statement formula

Hello Lennon,

My name is Greg Eze and I am one of the trainers at Best.

The way to achieve this is to think of the formula as : Opening Balance + Money put into account - Outgoings

1. Place the opening balance in a cell which is away from the main table e.g. in this case G1.

2. Refer to the formula above G1 (opening balance)+C1 (money put into account) - B1 outgoings)

3. If you wish to use the AutoFill, you must have G1 as an absolute reference otherwise the formula on the next row becomes G2+c2-b2 which will be wrong. Click on the cell with the formula, then use the Formula Auditing tools to find out wish cells are affected.

I hope this helps. I have attached a file which (I hope) corresponds to what you have in mind.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Greg
