please let me know how to build up a regression curve using the graph function

RE: graphs

Hello Stanley

My name is Greg Eze and I am one of the trainers from BEST.

All you need to do is have a two columns of figures, select the two columns in order to create a scatter diagram. Then from the Menu Bar, choose Chart, then Add Trendline, choose the Linear option, click on the Option tab and choose the tick box which says Display equation on chart. Choose Ok after that and it will display the straight line graph formula (y = 3.232x+452 for example). If you wish to checl whether the value before the x is value for the regression (which is a fairly complex statistical formula, then use the SLOPE function (e.g. = Slope (Y range, X range) ie = SLOPE(B1:B8,A1:A8).

I hope this helps

Greg

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
