Task -> Seperate project

Hi,

Is there a way to take a task (with numerous sub-tasks) out of project and make it into an individual project?

Purpose: After creating a project you would like to give control to one member of your team of a certain task, without giving them the full master project.

Thanks

Dougy

RE: Task -> Seperate project

The only way I know of doing this is to copy the section of the project into a new project. Then replace the selection in the original section with a linked project.

You will need to re-link and links the selection had to the rest of the project.

The does not appear to be an automatic method of splitting a project file into seperate projects.

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
