2000 version of Access

I am having to work in Access 2000 until we are updated in a few weeks.

Will I have any problems opening my data in 2007 when it is installed?

RE: 2000 version of Access

Hi Jackie,

You should have no problems opening your existing 2000 databases, as Access is Backwardly Compatible as far as 2000 however when you have opened your data and saved it as 2007 you will no longer be able to use it in 2000. If you do wish to use it in 2000 you must save it as a 2000 database. Go to Office Button>Save As and make your choices.

hope that has helped, regards Pete

Access tip:

Create An Inaccessible Field On A Form

There is sometimes a need to make a field in a form look like a normal field but be completely inaccessible to the user. To do this:

In the Field's Properties
Set the ENABLED property to No
Set the LOCKED property to Yes

The field will not grey out, but the user will not be able to do anything with it.
