Hi Sarah

Thanks for your question. For a material resource set the material label (unit) to something that indicates you are working in units of 1000 (eg 1K) and in the cost cell set the appropriate rate. Now when you assign one of this resource you are in fact assigning 1000 and project is calculating the cost accordingly. Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Duration is the timescale within which a task is done; Work is the specific time element used. For example, 3 days work in a duration of 2 weeks. To compare, add the Work field into the Entry table by right clicking a column heading to Add Field.
