Table of contents

How do i make my table of contents start from the same point on each line? ie:
Introduction
Chapeter 1
Chapeter 2

RE: Table of contents

Hi Kim

Thank you for your question.

This might have something to do with the application of heading styles in your document - if all three headings (Introduction, Chapter 1, Chapter 2) all have the same style applied (e.g. Heading 1 style) they should all align with each other in the table of contents.

If you change the heading style applied to any of these headings so they are all using the same style, remember to use F9 to update your Table of Contents so you can see the change to how these are displayed.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

Word tip:

Changing default folder location for opening and saving

If you are always opening documents from and/or saving documents to a specific location that is not My Documents, save time by setting this folder as the default for opening files from and saving files to.

Here's how:
1. Go to Tools - Options.

2. Select the File Locations tab.

3. Under File Types, select Documents.

4. Use the Modify dialogue box that appears on your screen to navigate to the folder you wish to set as your default.

5. Select the folder, click OK, and click OK again.

You have now changed the default folder for opening and saving documents.
