Hiding Data

What other uses would this be used for apart from hiding it when sending to someone else?

RE: Hiding Data

Hi Sarita

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

I have used the Hide feature before when I am creating a spreadsheet and I want to keep historical data but not see it.

For example, now that it is June 2008 I would hide the figures for May 2008 as I will not be amending those figures anymore since May has passed. On the other hand, I don't want to delete the figures either.

So I hide them instead so I still have access to them if I ever need them but they don't take up room in my spreadsheet.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

RE: Hiding Data

Thank you Amanda - it has given me an idea of what else I can do.

Thank you.

RE: Hiding Data

Thank you, it has helped. I have actually wanted to hide data to reduce my spreadsheet.

Excel tip:

Deleting a range of cells using the autofill handle

Firstly, select the range of cells for which you would like to clear the contents. Then drag the autofill handle to the the top left corner of the selection whilst holding down the shift key. Your selected contents should then be deleted.
