How can you import a chart into power pojnt

RE: Excel/Power point - Importing chart from Excel to PowerPoint

Dear Carole

Thank you for attending Excel intermediate course. I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

Importing Excel chart is quite straight forward.

If you already have a chart created in Excel and want to display in PowerPoint then simply select the chart in Excel and choose Edit> Copy. Then in PowerPoint insert a new slide with Title Only layout and then simply choose Edit > Paste.

If you want to create a link so that if the chart in excel changes and you want it to be changed in PowerPoint then instead of choosing Edit > Paste choose Edit > Paste special... In the dialog box choose Paste link and then press Ok.

You may have to adjust the size of the chart once it has been imported onto PowerPoint.

In order to test this if you change the value from the source data in Excel. If you come back to PowerPoint and right click on the chart and choose update link you will notice that the chart in PowerPoint will be updated.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Excel tip:

Convert a column into row quickly in Excel 2010

Occasionally you might enter data into Excel vertically and then when you finish realize that actually it would look more clearer if it was represented in a horizontal format. If you follow these simple steps below, you can quickly change the data from going vertically to horizontally and vice versa.

First, select the column you want to convert into a row or a row into a column. Then right click and select Copy. Go to the sheet where you want to past this row as a column and select “Paste Special”. Remember to check the check-box “Transpose” and select “OK”.
