How do I insert a hyperlink into my PowerPoint?

RE: Links

Hi Helen

Thank you for your question; and welcome to the forum.

To create a hyperlink:

1. Select the text you wish to create the link from.
2. Go to Insert - Hyperlink or use Ctrl + K.
3. On the left hand side of the dialogue box, select the appropriate option from the 4 available. You will most likely use the Existing file or web page option.
4. If you are using the Existing file or web page option you will need to either navigate to and select the file on your computer that you want to link to; or paste the address of the web page you wish to link to into the Address box near the bottom of the dialogue box.
5. Click OK.

Hyperlinks will only work in slide show view, so you will need to put your presentation into this view to test the link.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

PowerPoint tip:

Use templates to save time

If you need to set up a presentation quickly and don't have the time to add the colours and formatting yourself - take advantage of the ready-made templates in Powerpoint 2010.

When you create a new presentation in Powerpoint, you can select a ready made template from the Office.com section in the File menu.
