RE: Creating buttons in access

Hi Jonathan, Thanks for the post, welcome to the forum, in answer to your question, Yes you can create action buttons in Access, these would normally reside on a Form, and are created in Design View on the form design. Your action buttons will link to other forms, tables, reports and as you say even run queries. To create a button on the form follow these steps:
1. Create your form either manually or using the wizard
2. Switch to design view, from the Toolbox, (hammer and spanner button on the Forms Toolbar) select the option for Action button.
3. The Wizard will open and present you with a number of options, you can select the action you wish your button to perform (any of the above) and choose to use a button image or text to identify your button.
4. When you have completed the creation of the button switch to Form View and Test the function, if you wish to amend or change the function you must return to Design View.
I hope that has been useful, if so, please click the Resolved button, best regards Pete

Access tip:

Dsum

You can create percentage values based on individual products / items by using a Dsum function (used with a grouped query)

[Each value column] / Dsum[field:total for the column needed to be calculated],[tablename]
