RE: Excel

Dear Emma

The Watermark feature is not available in Excel.

However you can create something that looks like a watermark by using "WordArt".

1. Select View and click [Page Break Preview[/b]. This allows you to see how Excel is printing the document

2. Click on the WordArt button in the Drawing toolbar

3. Select a WordArt Style (the Simple Outline text is probably best - top left option)

4. Choose the font you want, type your Watermark message and click OK.

5. Then move, size, and turn the WordArt so it's placed as you want it within the boundaries of the first page.

6. The watermark will obscures the numbers in the worksheet. To fix this, right-click on the word and choose "Format WordArt."

Set the Fill Color to one of the patel colours and set the transparency to around 75%. Make sure you also change the line colour and click OK.

You may need to play around with this until you settle on your optimum setting.

If your spreadsheet is a single page, you're done. If not, Copy the watermark and paste it in the other pages as required.

Hope this helps.

Excel tip:

Creating custom lists

In Excel if you type in January in a cell, you can then copy this cell to replicate Febraury, MArch, April etc.

This list has come from Tools- options and Custom lists.

Therefore to save time and create your own list you can click on New (in Tools and custom list tab) and type out the lsit that you want copied quickly.

All you have to do is then type in the 1st word and you will be able to copy the rest of the list quickly.
