Linking multiple documents

How can I link different spreadsheets from different documents into one summary spreadsheet?

And also how can I can check for links that may already exist.

RE: Linking multiple documents

Hi Fredrik

Thanks for your questions.

Firstly to check for links that may already be set up, you can go to Edit on the menu bar, and if Excel allows you to select Links from the menu then it means there are existing links in the file.

If you then select Links, you will see details of each link that is set up - what file the link is to and how it is updated.

To link different spreadsheets into one summary spreadsheet, you can set up formulas in your summary spreadsheet that refer to the cells in the other spreadsheets, or you could use the Consolidate feature which is found under the Data menu. Both of these topics are covered as part of our Excel Intermediate course.

Enjoy your training and please post to our forum again if there's anything else we can help you with.

thanks
Amanda
