How do you place text on top of a picture?

RE: Powerpoint

Hi Jane

Thank you for your question. Sorry about the delay in replying, I was away from work sick on Friday and Monday.

You can put text on top of a picture by inserting your picture, then creating a text box and placing the text box on top of the picture.

You can create a text box using the text box tool from the Drawing toolbar (it is located to the right of the oval/circle drawing tool). Once you have selected the text box tool, bring your mouse onto your slide, hold down the left mouse button and drag diagonally to create a text box. Once it has been created, you will be able to type directly into the box. To resize the text box, use the white circle handles on the edge of it.

Drag the text box on top of the picture to position it. If the text box disappears behind the picture, right-click on top of the picture and go to Order and then select Send Backward.

If the text box is white and you'd like to remove the colour from the text box, click on the edge of the text box to select it and then use the Fill colour (paint bucket) button on the toolbar and select No Fill to remove the colour.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

PowerPoint tip:

Text in an AutoShape

To insert text within an Autoshape, just start typing once the shape has been drawn. To wrap the text, double-click the shape and turn on Word Wrap Text in Autoshape in the Text Box tab.
