Macro

What is Macro?

RE: Macro

Hi Junaid

Thank you for your question.

A macro is a sequence of recorded steps that can be carried out automatically, rather than you performing the steps manually.

To record a macro, go to Tools - Macro - Record new macro, then give your macro a name (without any spaces as part of the name) and click OK.

Then carry out the series of steps you want the macro to do for you, and click the Stop Recording button on the small toolbar that is showing on your screen; or go to Tools - Macross - Stop recording.

To play the macro, go to Tools - Macro - Macros, select the macro and click Run.

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
