How to Move Quickly via Headings in a Word 500 page report

How can I jump through my 500 page word document more quickly. I want to be able to jump to main headings in my document which already has heading styles on them, so that I can read that section of data quickly. Is this possible in Word?

RE: How to Move Quickly via Headings in a Word 500 page report

Yes this is possible if your document main headings has styles applied to them e.g. Heading 1, Heading 2 and even your own custom style names will work.

All you have to do is select View menu, Document Map and you will see all the main headings in your document on the left of your screen.

To move to any section of your document, just point and click on a heading and you will be taken immediately to that page which will display on the right of your screen.

Word tip:

View your document in two different ways simultaneously

It is possible to see the same Word document in two different views on your screen at the same time.

Go to Windows-Split. A horizontal line will appear on your screen - simply click to create a split screen where you can see the same document twice. Then change the view in one of the split screen areas - you can now see the same document in two different views.

To remove the split screen, go to Window-Remove Split.
