Viewing web archives

How do you get web archives in to dreamweaver? On a Mac, if it's different?

RE: Viewing web archives

Hi Peter,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by web archives.

You can load previously saved web pages, created in nearly any application, into Dreamweaver. Are these archives a web site you previously had online or on a local computer? If so, simply copy the files to a directory on your computer and create a site in Dreamweaver pointing to the directory. It would be the same on a MAC.

If this hasn't answered your question, please reply with more detail, and I'll try to help.

Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:

Xhtml vs html

When using dreamwear template or just creating a blank webpage, you are able to select the markup language you want to use. The main choices are either xhtml or html. It is now best to select xhtml as this will translate all the html into xml, so it is transmitted across the web in xml format. One of the main advantages of this is that it makes the site that you build much more compatible with the range of different web browsers that exist.
